In this course, you will learn how to be more mindful and pay more attention, and explore your inner life so you more accurately understand what exactly will fulfill you, and pursue it.You will also learn about hormones that motivate you, which can be a little mental trick that your mind plays on you. Once you will know how to identify that, you won't fall prey to distractions like that.The goal of this course is to get you headed in the most accurate and correct direction for your life and to choose the work that is most fulfilling and rewarding. And that should significantly boost your feelings of happiness and satisfaction.In Eastern philosophy, the key to happiness is a lack of desire. But if you are doing the wrong work in your life, it can take away from your feeling of content and add dissatisfaction and frustration. This course will help you head in the right direction.
βHOW TO LOOK AT MINDFULNESS
βMindfulness is a term that is used to describe many things. To some people, mindfulness means meditation. To other people, mindfulness means simply being aware of your thoughts and moods. The ladder definition of mindfulness is more widely applicable, and that's the one we will use in this course since everyone can and should be aware of their own moods, thoughts, and feelings.
βARE YOUR THOUGHTS THE MAIN CAUSE OF HAPPINESS OR LACK OF HAPPINESS?
βWe are with out thoughts every second of every hour. They set off chain reactions in not only our psychology, Β but also physiology. If we allow our thoughts to randomly dwell on negative things or if we allow biases to creep in, that might send us down the path of feeling unfulfilled, frustrated, or unhappy.But if we catch our thought patterns and actively work to reverse them, we can take the same reality, but frame it in a way that still makes sense to us, but at the same time works to our benefit and makes us feel better about ourselves - that can be truly transformative, and change feelings of frustration or unhappiness to happiness and fulfillment.
βMINDFULNESS STRATEGIES AFTER WE CATCH UNDESIRED THOUGHT PATTERNS
βWe have three options after we1) We can practice "radical acceptance" which is to make peace even with the harshest and most undesired realities. It's not something you'd choose from the outset, but it does help to deal with an already bad situation.2) We can take ourselves out of situations that lead to the negative thoughts3) We can reframe how we interpret various situations. For example, instead of thinking that you don't like your job and that you are frustrated to have to go there every day, you can think about it this way: you are lucky that you get to have a job.None of these work perfectly, but together, they can make a significant different in helping you find happiness and fulfillment in many different situations.
